I am a Non-Slotted Ladle. The pot of soup simmers. My brass handle glimmers. My head of steel shimmers.
Curator's Notes
It’s difficult to fathom how a kitchen utensil as commonplace as a ladle could be made so artfully, but Mitsuhiro Konishi is no ordinary artisan. Working alone, he meticulously shapes each piece as he would a sculpture. In your hand, the ladle is a tool, a sturdy scoop for serving stews and tofu. Hanging by its handle, the ladle becomes a work of art. View Konishi-san's entire collection .
